Straight up, just talk for five minutes and then switch to business. 5 minutes is polite. 5 minutes is much time it takes to get all the business stuff out of the way. You can say your hellos and yout how do you dos. Etc. Deal with all the business and then get right down to the dirty. That is how I view things.
