Work has been shockingly slow this last couple of weeks for me, possibly due to not being the new guy in town anymore, so I'm thinking of heading down to London next weekend. I just want some advice on touring as I've not done it before and the only time I ever go to London is just passing through.

-Is London a good choice for a weekend or would somewhere else be better? (I'm in the NW)
-Which area is best to go to? It's a pretty big place and I've no idea.
-can anyone recommend a half-decent cheap hotel?
-Any other advice for me?
