I'm planning to move outside London to a smaller town by the end of the year and wondered what kind of location is best.  Is it better to be within walking distance of the train station ( with minimal parking options) or a bit further out with easy access by car but a further distance from the station? I'm so used to living/ working in London it's hard to imagine what it will be like outside London and what clients outside London would prefer.

Any advice would be appreciated.

London has always been a mess. I prefer the outskirts of the city. If you have a vehicle then don't think twice... Near the train station, well no one in a reasonable state of mind would recommend that. First, the noise is annoying. Second, the vibration cause the earth to shake and by that the buildings near the station or the railway are not very safe.
