I park where I and the client feel is most appropriate, often this is indeed outside the property. My tip is to ask about parking because a few expected me to park on double yellow lines, pavements or in permit zones withiut a permit. Where should I park if I'm at a remote rural property, suburban or village property. Down a pitch black lane narrow layby 800m away? Also many don't have nosy neighbours, or aren't overlooked, or aren't bothered that someone may notice a woman in flat shoes, coat, carrying a bag or two. I am quiet, respectful. Not turning up in a pink mobile, tottering on high heels, tiny skirt etc.
Regards phoning if parking is not right outside some ask me to text, others just know to expect me and don't want me sat outside phoning. They have paid a deposit and so far I haven't been sent to the wrong address, however one tip I have regards hotels is check the room you are going into is the room number provided. I once realised only on exit the room number was not the same as given. I don't go into a hotel without someone knowing or some trace as to where I have gone specifically.
